It has been an incredibly tough week at the shelter. We have taken in a multitude of animals in horrific shape. Geoffrey, Royce and Winston are just a few of the faces who have come through our doors in critical need. While their wounds are obvious, we have no idea of the full extent of abuse/neglect they have endured.
The impact of stories like these – emotionally, physical and mentally – on the animals and our team is not taken lightly.
It weighs heavy on us all.
The anxiety of not knowing what these animals have endured.
The worry thinking there may be more animals in the same situations.
The knowledge that this is happening right here, in our community, in our neighborhoods.
