Two weeks ago, a Great Plains SPCA staff member found Marge wandering alone on the street–injured and pregnant. She was limping, panting heavily and tried to run away, but had no energy and was almost falling over.
The staff member brought her to the shelter where our caring Shelter Medicine Team evaluated her leg and determined she had an infection that was causing her pain. They also determined she was almost ready to give birth!
Our Foster Team sprang into action and found her a wonderful Foster home where she safely gave birth to eight healthy puppies! Her infection has also cleared up and she is no longer limping.
