Cat rushed to Great Plains SPCA in need of emergency medical attention

Rushed to Great Plains SPCA with severe wounds on his head and neck, Blake needed emergency medical attention.

Blake showed up in a good Samaritan’s backyard in Shawnee and when they noticed he was injured, they were determined to trap him and get him the medical he desperately needed. When finally trapped, Blake was rushed to Great Plains SPCA.

Our Shelter Medical team jumped into action to help Blake as soon as he arrived at the shelter. Blake had two major wounds, one on the top of his head and a deeper one on the side of his neck. Our Shelter Medical team suspects his wounds were caused by an altercation with another animal but how long Blake was suffering from these painful injuries is unknown. The wounds were clipped, cleaned and dressed to provide him some relief and prevent risk of infection.

Blake is still at the shelter receiving medical attention daily. While he still has a long road ahead, he is on his way to making a full recovery thanks to the tireless efforts of our Shelter Medical team.
