Anna Sophie is tired of being without a forever home. Especially as the holidays approach, and as Anna Sophie nears 365 days as a shelter dog, we are determined to find her a home in time for the holidays.
Anna Sophie was brought to Great Plains SPCA last January after being found wandering lost and alone and having recently had puppies. She was a typical high-energy, boisterous and friendly girl but quickly began to show signs of stress in the shelter including reacting negatively towards other animals and fearfulness of new people. Shelter life was not for her, so we called on one of our dependable Foster parents to take Anna Sophie in to help manage her stress and prepare her for her forever family.
Neither we nor her Foster mom expected Anna Sophie to become our longest-term dog and spend nearly an entire year in the shelter system. But neither of us are giving up on Anna Sophie, either.
Anna Sophie has a dedicated team of staff, volunteers and community members committed to supporting her journey to a home for the holidays. The following efforts have been made on her behalf:
- She participated in countless photo shoots and dress up sessions to help promote her adoption
- She has been on field trips to Mixed Mutt Creamery and Tom Bradley photography
- She has been featured on our social media pages more than 12 times
- Took over our social media for a day
- Wrote Dear Diary posts
- Starred in her very own video
- Her adoption fee is sponsored
- A basket full of toys and other supplies have been donated to her future forever family
- A behavior consultation has been sponsored for her future family
Anna Sophie needs your help. She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet as she does not do well with other animals. She will thrive in a home with adults only. She loves to play ball, knows tons of commands, is full of personality and is house trained and not destructive when left alone.
