Pugs arrived at Great Plains SPCA in need of critical care

Rex and Shadow recently arrived at Great Plains SPCA with critical needs. Rex had an open wound from a ruptured abscess and Shadow was paralyzed in her hind legs.

Our incredible Shelter Medical team administered the expert wound care to help Rex heal and one of our key donors provided Shadow with her first ever wheelchair.

Once they were stabilized, we contacted our trusted partner, Kansas City English Bulldog Rescue (KCEBR), which agreed to take both Rex and Shadow into their foster care program. KCEBR specializes in the rehabilitation and rehoming of English Bulldogs and similar breeds, including pugs. Rex and Shadow will live in KCEBR’s loving foster homes until they are adopted!

Rex and Shadow’s needs were immediate and unique, and we could only commit to caring for and placing them because of your support. All donations are matched up to $150,000 this month during our Home for the Holidays match campaign! Donate today to help more pets like Rex and Shadow.
