Volunteer Spotlight: July

Please join us in congratulating our July Volunteers of the Month! Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and our shelter pets are lucky to have amazing people like them advocating on their behalf every single day!

Independence Campus: Rose Wessing

For Rose Wessing, it’s impossible to pick her favorite part of volunteering…nearly 200 hours after starting her journey with Great Plains! Whether it’s learning more about our cat friends, or interacting with staff members, fosters and adopters; she enjoys it all. Rose regularly socializes the adoptable cats and enjoys the unique experience that comes with each one. “She’s consistently helpful and kind-hearted,” said a member of the Pet Adoption Center team when asked about Rose. On behalf of Great Plains SPCA, thank you for all you do, and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!

Merriam Campus: Bruce Miller

Bruce Miller is a true “Jack of all Trades” as it pertains to his volunteer career with Great Plains SPCA. In less than a year, he has volunteered with our Pet Food Pantry, F.A.S.T. Team and special projects. Bruce has accumulated around 200 hours of dedicated service along the way. “I began volunteering because I love dogs and learned of the need at Great Plains. I am now inspired by the satisfaction of helping dogs get adopted and the pleasure and reward I get by working with them,” said Bruce. On behalf of Great Plains SPCA, thank you for all you do, and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!
