Thank you from all of us

Greetings,
Wow….what a difference a year makes! This time last year, I could never have imagined the changes and challenges that 2020 would bring to so many of us.

From lockdown in March when we wrote to the Governor of Kansas to ensure animal shelters would be considered “essential,” to the numerous operational adjustments we have made since then to ensure our staff, volunteers and visitors stay safe, we have worked incredibly hard to ensure none of our staff lost their jobs or faced furloughs and most importantly, that every animal who needed us was helped.

In comparing the first three quarters of 2019 to the same period in 2020, we tripled the number of animals admitted to the shelter through our HERO Program from 110 to 356, doubled the numbers of animals in foster from 306 to 608 and increased our adoptions by 16%.

And we could not have done it without YOU, our wonderful, generous, loyal donors and volunteers who, because of your dedication and never-ending commitment, have helped us make it through a very tough year. THANK YOU.

As we navigate our way through these unprecedented times, we still have a tough road ahead. Donations are down significantly this year as is revenue from our operations. But our commitment to making Great Plains SPCA a better place for pets and the people who love them remains and we will continue to rise to the challenge and be better and stronger because of it.

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Thank you again for all you do. We are truly grateful for your support.
