Miranda is a University of Missouri graduate with a degree in Interpersonal Communication and Religious Studies.
As an undergraduate, she created, executed and managed dozens of exciting events for the university itself and the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, including conferences, concerts, speakers, festivals and novelty programs.
Upon graduation, Miranda completed an event and fundraising internship with the Kansas City Zoo and then proceeded to work at Ameristar Casino and Hotel as their Event and Advertising Coordinator.
Eventually, she applied her diverse background in event and fundraising development to the Kansas City Pet Project animal shelter as their Special Events and Education Coordinator. Currently, Miranda serves as the Development Director for the Humane Society Legislative Fund of Kansas, the state’s leading political advocacy organization committed to defending and passing critical legislation regarding animal protection.
Miranda has been dedicated to a vegan lifestyle for over two years and in her free time, she enjoys volunteering for VegLife KC and spending time with her three rescue cats.
