Alumni Monty Update

Once abandoned in a backyard, malnourished and high-heartworm positive, Monty celebrated his one-year adoptaversary last month in his perfect forever home!

Monty’s adopter, Laura, shares why she chose to adopt, what having Monty “Home for the Holidays” means to her and why she continues to support Great Plains SPCA:

“I myself was adopted so adoption is near and dear to my heart so when the opportunity came, I jumped at it. Great Plains means everything to me. Great Plains is so much more than just a shelter. It’s a home, a place to keep these animals safe, loved and nourished. I know that when I took Monty home, he was coming from the best possible atmosphere I could imagine.

Monty has made so much progress since I adopted him. He’s really grown into himself, has the biggest personality and is super vocal. He loves nothing more than attention, car rides and ice cream. “Home for the Holidays” means so much to me. Monty is my baby and being able to share the holidays is so special to me. Holidays bring the family together and Monty has been a huge part of that.

Others should help support Great Plains because of the change they make in these pets’ lives. Each person within Great Plains has a passion for animals and truly cares about their well-being. These people work endless hours and holidays to provide these pets with the best life they can receive while staying at a shelter. I say “shelter” loosely because I whole heartedly feel that Great Plains is a home to these animals.”

Join Laura and Monty in supporting Great Plains SPCA’s “Home for the Holidays” match campaign this December and your donation will be doubled!
