Volunteer Spotlight: May

Please join us in congratulating our May Volunteers of the Month! Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and our shelter pets are lucky to have amazing people like them advocating on their behalf every single day!

Independence Campus: Tina Cully

Tina Cully, a true Dog Hero and an active member of our F.A.S.T. Team is an incredibly valuable member of the Great Plains SPCA family. Tina has accumulated more than 800 hours of dedicated service since beginning in August of 2013. Tina’s fellow volunteers have taken notice of her commitment to the pets in our care and have in turn nominated her for this honor. When it comes to Tina favorite aspect of volunteering, she says “I love working with the more challenging dogs. Whether it is behavioral or medical, the most overlooked dogs are the type I tend to gravitate toward”. Tina has an abundance of love to give to those whom need it most, and for that – we are so thankful.  On behalf of Great Plains SPCA, thank you for all that you do and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!

Merriam Campus: Karen, Fritz, Kai and Jade

The Achen/Chinn family began their volunteer journey with Great Plains SPCA a year ago this May. In one year’s time, this amazing family has made quite the impression on our staff. “They’re always happy to be here and are willing to help with whatever is needed”, according to a member of our Adoptions Team. The Achen/Chinn family’s inspiration to begin volunteering began when Kai and Jade started lobbying for a pet of their own. “I thought volunteering would give them a good sense of the responsibility and commitment that comes with pet ownership”, said parents Karena and Fritz. On behalf of Great Plains SPCA, thank you for all that you do and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!
