Volunteer Spotlight: January

Please join us in congratulating our January Volunteers of the Month! Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and our shelter pets are lucky to have amazing people like them advocating on their behalf every single day!

Merriam Campus: Tom and Kathy Stull

Tom and Kathy Stull, an outstanding husband and wife duo, have been volunteering with Great Plains SPCA since our Merriam location opened. Together the Stull’s have accumulated nearly 2,500 hours of volunteer service. “We both really wanted to help animals who needed [it] and thought we had skills that Great Plains SPCA could use,” Kathy said. Their roles include animal transports, fostering entire litters of puppies, helping with adoption events and even surgery check-ins at our Merriam Veterinary Care Center. “They are very helpful at ensuring surgery check-in goes smoothly, we can always depend on them which is fantastic,” team member Emily said. On behalf of Great Plains SPCA, thank you for all you do and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!

Independence Campus: Lisa Lunsford

Lisa Lunsford began volunteering with Great Plains SPCA in May 2017. In a short amount of time, Lisa has helped our Feline Team in more ways than we can thank her for. Not only does she help socialize the cats, but she also helps with cleaning, scooping litterboxes, cleaning laundry, making sure there is food and water for the cats and even more. Her helping hands and determination on the weekends does not go unnoticed. For all of your help and kindness, Great Plains SPCA would like to thank you for all you do and congratulations on becoming our Volunteer of the Month!
