Sharing a like mission to provide medical care for those in need, Great Plains SPCA and the Kansas City CARE Clinic partner for the annual FuzzyFotosKC contest. Over the history of the event, it has raised more than $500,000 to support healthy people and healthy pets!
FuzzyFotosKC is a photo contest featuring your fuzzy, feathered, and furry family members. Contestants form a “team” and professional photographs are taken with their special pet companion, along with a bio that tells their story. Contestants then work in creative ways to inspire friends, family, co-workers, and the animal-loving public to cast a vote for their team. Each vote is $1, and all funds raised are split equally between both agencies.
The two organizations originally came together with the understanding that people and pets need each other, but people who cannot afford their own health care are likely unable to afford proper medical care for their pets. The health benefits pets provide their owners are immeasurable – reduced stress, lower blood pressure, a healthier heart, a longer life. Healthy people live a better, more productive life; healthy animals make better pets. Voting begins at 10 am on July 1st and ends at 3 pm on July 31st. Be sure to come back on the 1st of July to cast your votes for your favorite Fuzzy Foto and make a difference in the lives of people and pets!
